THE EXCITEMENT OF SPACE
The unknown things in our world are not only exciting, but sometimes frightening. How much more is there in the UNKNOWN of space?
We and the great minds of science have asked ourselves, "WHAT IS OUT THERE?" We want to find out and the hopes for reaching Mars is in the plans. Yes, we landed on the moon and our bravest astronauts circle the globe.
The race to be the first nation to go farther and farther into space is also in the works. One might ask, "If we can't live peacefully here on the earth God has given us, what would we do if we could reach other planets?"
Very good question with no answer.
You may have heard the term 31/ATLAS.
Don't worry if you haven't. I just recently had to look it up. The meaning of 31/ATLAS is an official designation for the third-known interstellar object to pass through our solar system, which was discovered in 2025. More recently, an article was written by Victor Tangermann, concerning it. A few of his words are as follows:
"By definition, scientists don't know what to expect as they inspect the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, since it's only the third object detected from beyond the solar system in human history. But the surprises just keep coming. The mysterious entity, which was first spotted hurtling towards the Sun from far beyond in early July, has fascinated researchers ever since. As Science Alert points out, a quartet of powerful telescopes — NASA's Hubble, SPHEREx, Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), and James Webb Space Telescope — have now turned their powerful gazes to observe 3I/ATLAS."
Perhaps with this many telescopes studying the universe, more answers will be found out about God's creation. Just the same, in the mean time, we should all be dropping to our knees in honor of such a glorious God who gives us only a glimpse into His universe.
When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars that You have established, what are human beings that You are mindful of them? Mortals that You care for them? Yet, You have made them a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
You have given them dominion over the works of Your hands. You have put all things under their feet, all sheep and oxen and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea; whatsoever passes along the paths of the sea.
Oh, Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the world! Psalm 8:3-9
