A MOMENT OF TRUTH: THE SHIP WAS SINKING!
There are many versions of what happened in those last hours before the Titanic went down with all aboard. Only those who were there really know. Isn't this the case when something tragic happens and the details are only in the minds of those seeing the real thing?
Many of us have had a moment when we felt the "ship is truly going down." We lived. We survived....whatever the situation....even though at that very moment we thought life would never go on or be the same. Perhaps we were correct about it never being the same. Yet, God had a plan to pull us up from the depths of despair. He would not let us go because He loves us.
He assures us that there will be another sunrise. There will be some more laughter and there will be joys that we do not know will come...but they will come. Wait on God. Wait on His Kindness and Love. Wait, for He has much in life that you are still not aware.
Go outside, know and look at the most beautiful thing you can see....the sky, a flower, a sunrise or sunset; a mountain or the ocean. The smile on a child's face! It is yours for the looking. It is yours because each day is a new day which God has made. GOD IS NEARER TO YOU THAN YOU THINK.
It was said that the Survivors could hear the last song being played by the few men left holding their instruments. NEARER MY GOD TO THEE
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me
Still all my song shall be... nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
We, as Christians, Young and Older, must seek to be closer to God. It should be in everyone of our thoughts, whether we are in danger; filled with concerns or feeling "on top of the world." He has promised to be with us in all circumstances. Ask Him for His presence this day. Ask Him when you lay your head on the pillow. Ask Him when you get into your car and drive the busy highways. HE WILL BE WITH YOU IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. ASK HIM.
PRAYER: "TO YOU, OH LORD, I LIFT UP MY SOUL. OH MY GOD, IN YOU I TRUST..." Psalm 25
NOW LET'S LISTEN TO THE SONG THAT A SURVIVOR OF THE TITANIC SAID THEY HEARD BEING PLAYED AS THE SHIP BEGAN TO SINK.
